The department was started in the year of 1997 as a vocational degree course by the inspiration of UGC. Automobile Engineering curriculum is thought here as B.Sc Automobile Maintenance. The Automobile Maintenance department is affiliated by UGC & Vidyasagar University .The course has been treated as Major (equivalent to Honours) since 2002.This is the alone in the west Bengal. From the beginning this department is running as self-finance department.
There are two contractual lecturers & One instructor , Four per time Teacher & a non-teaching staff in this department.

They help to get scholarship for poor students. They always provide morality guidance. Some times Meditation classes, spoken English classes are also arranged by the automobile department for the students of this department. They provide mental support to the weaker students. Over head projector is used in the theory class .Different models & charts are used to understand the critical and modern construction and working of different automobile components. Different reference books, Inter net are used to provide more information . now we are in very satisfactory condition that we are able to offer the job for every students.
Infrastructure
The Department use a college seminar hall, college central library and also use departmental library, a good number of books related to the subject is formed by the contribution of faculty members and students. The department has 6(Six)Automobile workshop/lab, One forging workshop, one electric work shop, one fitter work shop, one engine shop and two cut section model lab. different types of cut section model.Email Id:- bajkulcollege.automobile@gmail.com

Programme Out come
PO 1:Now a days , the importance of automobile has become more essential in life than ever before as it plays a vital role in the transportation of mankind.
PO 2: Since the students studying automobile have been doing the several sector such as privet or governments job, they have been able to become self-dependent. And they have been able to update themselves about the various systems of automobiles with time. Every year, the students of our automobile department create various types of new project innovations and are quite helpful in researching them.
PO 3: After completing the course of Automobile, the students are working in different companies and they can work on their own and after passing from here, the students try to do higher education. Also, our students try to create new workshops as self-employed and earn from there and become financially and socially independent and responsible citizens.
Programme Specific Outcome:
After successful completion of B.Sc Major with Automobile Maintenance Students gain the knowledge of the following:-
PSO-1: Use of brake system, cooling system, gear technology in vehicle.
PSO-2: Function of engine system suspension system and electrical system in automobile.
PSO-3: Manufacturing and maintenance of automobile components.

LOW & ADVANCED LEARNER POLICY OF THE DEPARTMENT
This Policy is being taken several types of industries, as a step towards identifying the potential of individual students in a class and in order to develop that potential through specially curated teaching-learning procedure. Department of Automobile maintenance has taken the Policy for identifying Slow & Advanced Learners of a Semester through the following evaluation:
Assessment of the student’s class responses in the teaching-learning process
Evaluation of the student’s earlier reading in the subject and related areas
Assessment of the written performances through classwork and class tests
A questionnaire has been set of 40/60 % marks on the syllabus that has taught, containing 1 or 2 marks questions to evaluate their capability of understanding the matter or the subject.
Students obtaining below 40% are selected as SLOW LEARNERS, above 60% are determined as ADVANCED LEARNERS and the rest of the students are treated as average for which classroom teaching is considered sufficient.
In Remedial Classes slow learners are individually taught in maximum cases their unsalable to Spoken English . Teachers allot them project works and teach them how to prepare a paper.
After two months teachers observe whether spelling, spoken English , writing speed etc. have improved for the Slow Learners, then promote them to the average group.
